Almost all of my 26 years of military service was in the operating forces, but for a short time I was in college pursuing an officer's commission. Physical training was over for the day and I had just sat down in the Ward Room at Norfolk State University. I was studying for my 9:30 am class and we had the news on. The news had already broke the story about a plane hitting the North Tower of the World Trade Center. While the confusion/disbelief continued, the second plane hit the South Tower at 9:03 am. I can't remember conversations that I had yesterday, but I'll NEVER forget watching that second plane hit.
With the exception of the birth of my children and my wedding day, there isn't a more memorable and significant day in my life. We promised that we'd NEVER forget the loss and sacrifices made that day.
